The Union County Heritage Festival is an annual celebration held in Maynardville, inviting everyone to embrace and enjoy our rich Appalachian heritage. Each year features a unique theme, and for the 21st edition of the festival, we proudly present "Plowing the fields."
Nestled in the heart of Historic Maynardville, Tennessee, the Union County Heritage Festival is set to celebrate its 21st year with the theme, “Plowing the fields.” This cherished annual event invites families and friends to immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of Appalachian heritage, honoring the memories and traditions that shape our community.
On festival day, attendees will be greeted by the lively sounds of continuous country, bluegrass, and gospel music echoing from two stages across four vibrant venues. The air will be filled with the aroma of country cooking and festival treats, enticing visitors to indulge in the flavors of the region.
Craft enthusiasts will delight in demonstrations of heritage crafts, including blacksmithing, woodworking, and leathercraft, showcasing the skills passed down through generations. The Heritage Olympics will engage participants of all ages, while the art and quilt shows will display the creativity and talent of local artisans.
A standout feature of this year's festival is the Limited Edition Collectible Print titled 'Plowing the Fields.' This artwork beautifully captures the cherished memories of Union County's rich farming heritage. Available for purchase at the Information Booth, this print not only serves as a beautiful keepsake but also supports the festival’s future.
With free admission, free parking, and a farmers market brimming with local produce, the Union County Heritage Festival promises a day of joy, connection, and nostalgia. Join us on October 4th to celebrate our heritage, share stories, and create new memories that will last a lifetime.
